Dear Friends of Frank Hooper,
I just wanted to let everyone who has posted notes on this blog, written cards, called and visited that you have been a great encouragement to my sisters and I and to our mom, Eloise. It is with great joy we read how dad impacted your lives. He has left us a great legacy and a challenge to be faithful in winning souls for Christ. Thank you all for your love and prayers,
Jeannette Hooper Eckles
"Precious memories, how they linger...How they ever flood my soul...."
As I drove home from Pastor Hooper's memorial service today, I thought back to my own "Daddy". There was a huge age difference (26 years) between my adoptive parents. Daddy died very suddenly, the day before my first wedding anniversary, and without ever seeing my sons. But, through the years, I can still remember the love he bestowed upon me. I can see him chuckling when the biscuits I made were inedible, and hear him joking about ordering "Zoup and a zandwich, and scutterbotch pie."
We were blessed to know Pastor Hooper, as a teacher, a mentor, and a pastor. But, you who were closest to him will have so many more precious memories of husband, confidante, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. It is my sincerest prayer that "precious memories" of the special man who filled those places in your heart will reach out to comfort you, until you are enfolded in his arms again in Heaven. Thank you for sharing this beautiful memorial service with us. LeAnne Burgess
Dear Eloise and girls,
Tears of wonderful memories came to my heart and eyes today, when Maria shared with me about the passing of our friend and Pastor, Brother Frank. We sat just remembering you both and the good times in PR.
You have so many memories I know, and God will bless you with those and keep them close to your heart. How we remember the good times with your both in PR at Grace Bible Church. And how patient your were in advising us how to teach our young children... Guess we did ok, because they are doing well...
Remember that ol' hymn, "I Don't Know about Tomorrow"? Just sing it one more time... how true the message was back then, more even more true today, fore we truly know who holds tomorrow...
God Bless you, Eloise, May the Lord comfort your heart, wipe your tears and give you His Peace. Bob Jones
